Son’s of Anarchy

October 31, 2011 at 12:50 pm (Charlie Hunnam, Katey Sagal, Kurt Sutter, Ron Perlman, Ryan Hurst, Sons of Anarchy)

Recently got into the series Sons of Anarchy by Kurt Sutter. And i honestly don’t know why i love it as much as i do, i mean my fave tv series are Lost! True Blood, Dexter, Heroes…and the Sons. It doesn’t really resemble any of my other faves, but i think it’s written very well, the characters are sooo believable, and there’s always something going on. You never know what the characters are thinking, there always going behind eachother’s backs and your best friend could be planning your murder, whilst hugging you and calling you a brother! It’s compelling and i can’t wait for season 4!!! With the added benefit of big motor bikes, hunky characters Opie (Ryan Hurst)….and Jax (Charlie Hunnam)!!!!! ❤ And the genius that is Ron Perlman and the beautiful Katey Sagal.

Black Hole

October 31, 2011 at 11:13 am (Black Hole, Charles Burns, Max Oppenheim)

Bought Black Hole by Charles Burns last week, and was so captivated by it read it in a day…even though i wanted to drag it out t let it last longer…i physically couldn’t help myself!!!
From the art that seems simplistic, but at the same time feels complex, to the way Burns manages to capture ordinary people and make it interesting…i loved it from start to finish!

The books about a group of teens, doing what teens do, but with this weird sort of sexually transmitted disease that is going around, but instead of being within the body, the disease manifests itself in physical deformities. It’s kind of like a hit and miss deal, some people might have a slight blemish…or uuh mouth on their neck that they can hide, where as other people end up with hideous deformities n their face clear for everyone to see…

Burns captures the life of ordinary teenagers to perfection, we’ve all been there, scared nervous, excited, kind of like how Dan Clowes does with Ghost World, which i absolutely love. And if anyone has ever got high…there’s never been a more true to life interpretation of how it feels to be in that state of not belonging in any place or any persons. Reading Black Hole made me feel a bit apathetic and down i guess, when i tried to explain it…the book almost leaves you feeling hopeless lol. But not in a way where you wish you hadn’t read it, in a way where you feel enlightened. Full of that 70’s American charm i absolutely loved it! Felt like i could read it all over again as soon as i finished, and Charles Burns is def up there in my top 5 now!

Found these interpretations of Charles Burns’ characters and thought it was amazing! It was done by a British magazine 125 and photographer Max Oppenheim.

Gears 3!!!

September 27, 2011 at 4:41 pm (Gears of war 3)

The boyf eventually completed Gears 2 today after playing non stop for about 2 days!!! Only because he bought Gears 3 last week and couldn’t play until he completed 2 😛
I have’nt played yet because of stupid uni work, but i have had a quick go on horde…and i have to say woah! It’s so smooth, the graphics looks so much better, it’s all just better better better 🙂 I love how you can buy fences and shit to aid you, the more you kill the more money you get as you have to pay for ammunition. And this just makes the game even BETTER! There’s some new kick ass female characters you can play as, new weapons, the characters seem more developed and the story line seems a lot stronger. Don’t want to give anything away so i will just say, i can’t fricking wait to get on and Gear it up!!!!

Prom Night

September 26, 2011 at 12:10 pm (Jamie-Lee curtis, Prom Night)

After a very very very heavy night of drinking Friday, Saturday was a complete sofa day, so i took the chance to chill out to 1980’s Prom Night, as i hadn’t seen it before. To be honest i was so let down by it, dunno whether it was because i was expecting so much more, but i was just like…..ugh. I kept expecting it to kick in…and it never did. The build up was too long, people only started dying like 20 mins before the end of the film which i guessed :/

The one thing which i did enjoy was Jamie-Lee Curtis’ dance routine at the dance….fuck yeah I loved it, and am seriously considering learning it so I can do a rendition at Halloween 😀

Robo-Fassbender

September 26, 2011 at 8:50 am (Michael Fassbender, Peter Weller, Robocop)

So theirs rumours that the director of the new Robocop film wants Michael Fassbender to play the main man Robocop!!! Although I loved Peter Weller as Robocop back in the day, and it was incredible to see him being a bastard in Dexter, i think casting Fassbender as Robocop would be amazing!!! He’s got so many projects on right now though, chances are’nt looking great…but stay positive people, we have hope!!! 😀

Remember remember The Loved Ones…

September 19, 2011 at 12:40 am (Australian Horror Films, The Loved Ones)

Watched the Australian film ‘The Loved Ones’ the other day by myself, which is an unusual thing because I can’t normally watch horror films by myself (no matter how lame they are) But I gave it a go, not really knowing much about it. IN-FUCKING-CREDIBLE!!! So underrated, and every actor in the film was deadly believable!!! The character of Lola is so believable, her psycho-ness, her duality of personalities, her total lack of compassion toward other people… I double locked my door that night…just to be safe 😉

The film itself was really well filmed, the comparison  between what Brent and Lola’s Prom night was like, and Brent’s friend Jamie and Mia’s are in stark contrast and makes the horror and sadistic torture of Brent by Lola and her dad even more horrific.

The twists and turns keep you hooked until the last minute, and the ending definitely leaves you feeling satisfied 🙂 This film has just entered my fave horror films list 🙂

Woke up this morning, after a very heavy drinking session and after the longest night of the weirdest dreams…the only thing I could remember was opening a door…and carved into my wall was… ‘Remember Remember The Loved Ones…’  🙂

West Memphis three…finally free!

August 30, 2011 at 11:23 pm (West Memphis three)

Just a little bit late but the West Memphis Three are finally free after 18 years!!! This is a story of complete un-justice and one of the craziest stories I’ve ever heard, and I’m really into serial killers (not in a morbid way, but strangely I think it’s a girl thing lol) and this is just shocking.

For anybody that doesn’t know, the Memphis 3 were three boys from Memphis who were accused and put in prison for the brutal murder of three little boys. They stayed in prison for 18 years always protesting their innocence and with celebrity supporters like Johnny Depp, Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder, Peter Jackson and his wife among loads of others always fighting their innocence.
Reading through the case and the police reports it can only be described as fucking attrocious!!! Lack of evidence, evidence lost, leads not followed up, police coercion and the list goes on and on…

It seems that the police found three guys who could be classed as troubled because they dressed a certain way and listened to a certain type of music and put all the media attention and pressure as well as using their special powers of coercion and got what they wanted…their villains. It’s just so fucking sad that it took 18 years for them to finally be freed, and not only that, but the search will begin again for the real killer.

And to make this whole story even better, the Memphis three can’t go after any of the police or investigators or make any money off their story as part of their bale…there’s no kind of cover up here at all…
ahem.

Any ways, no point in being bitter and i’m sure the guys are just happy to have their lives back 🙂

Oh the horror…THE HORROR!

August 23, 2011 at 11:54 pm (Alfred Hitchcock, Anthony Perkins, Hayden Panettiere, Insidious, James Wan, Janet Leigh, Psycho, Scream 4, The burning, Tom Savini)

Been watching a lot of horror movie’s new and old over the last week, The Burning, Insidious, Scream4 and Psycho. The Burning a cult slasher classic with make up effect’s by the god that is Tom Savini is bloody, it’s full of gore, plenty of screams and a psycho killer called ‘Cropsy’ who makes his kills with his big fuck off garden shears!!! I was so surprised with how much I loved the film, and thought the characters were developed awesomely 🙂

Insidious…fuck man what can i say about Insidious…except me and the boyf had to watch an episode of Everybody Loves Raymond after it and then leave the light on in bed for at least half an hour haha. It was one hell of a creepy film. And it wasn’t even that it was that scary, but the anticipation of something scary coming…was enough to make me cling to my boyfriend and feel anxious right the way through. Directed by James Wan the legend that brought us the only Saw film worth mentioning and that be the first, I thoroughly enjoyed being terrified by his film. The only thing I thought could have been better was the ending, but with such an incredible start to the film i can forgive that. 😉

Scream4, man watching it made me feel about 12 again, sneaking over a mates house to watch it in secret all of us curled up with a bowl of popcorn 🙂 I think Wes Craven was on top form going back to the Scream franchise, forgetting scream3 which I think absolutely sucked! Scream4 was perfect, with its hints and nods to other horror films and popular culture and the fact that he got all the original cast to come back…i enjoyed it from start to finish. And Hayden Panettiere looking hotter than hell with her short cropped cut 🙂

I’ve been waiting to watch Psycho since as long as I can remember, and finally last night I did. The only film up until then by Hitchcock that I’d saw was ‘The Birds’ which I both loved and was terrified by as a kid! But I loved Psycho!! Janet Leigh both beautiful and an amazing actress (like mother like daughter) and Anthony Perkins were incredible in the film. I felt both sympathy and fear from Perkins, and don’t think the role could have been acted any more perfectly. His sweet nature, and freaky fast changing facial expressions, added with an incredible soundtrack made me feel tense and on edge rright the way through!!!
Creepy creepy Norman Bates!!!
